Friends of the North Country, Inc. is looking for a full-time Housing Counselor to join our team and become part of the most exciting and effective housing organization in Upstate NY. We are looking for a hard-working individual with communication skills, problem solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to learn and execute FONC^s mission.
Housing Counselor
Duties and Responsibilities:
?Maintains extensive caseload of client families
?Provide one-on-one and group counseling for: first-time home buyer, mortgage delinquency/default, tax delinquency, rental, homeless, post-purchase and predatory lending
?Develops Action Plans for all client families using CMAX data based system tools
?Maintains case records in database system and hard copy files in an up-to-date and organized manner
?Advocates for needs of client families; performs housing outreach
?Bachelor^s Degree in human service field
?Housing counseling experience preferred; must attend training and secure the required certification to become a HUD Housing Counselor within six (6) months or less at the time of employment; travel required.
